Sustainable & responsible
Sustainability plays an important role within Van der Valk. We find it important to take good care of the world around us, so that future generations can continue to enjoy the hospitality that Van der Valk has stood for for years. Therefore, our hotels work on corporate social responsibility and making operations more sustainable every day.
Various initiatives are implemented within the hotels to reduce the impact on the environment. Think of energy-saving measures, sustainable purchasing, waste reduction, and the use of local products. Additionally, several hotels have the globally recognized Green Key certification. This certificate is awarded to hotels that actively work towards sustainability and go beyond standard laws and regulations.
The Green Stay program also contributes to a more sustainable stay. Guests can choose to skip interim room cleaning, saving water, energy, and cleaning products. Moreover, a tree is planted for every skipped cleaning.
Sustainable entrepreneurship is a continuous process, and our hotels continue to evolve to conduct business more consciously and responsibly.
